Relevance. The progressive course of CP with ductal hypertension causes severe pain, exo-, endocrine failure, reduces the quality of life and requires surgical treatment.
Aim. In order to select the right surgery functional and anatomical criteria of treatment in 73 patients who underwent the organ preserving operation long-term results were studied.
Methods and results. It was found that the best results were obtained in patients (n = 39) who were performed the operation in step of mild exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
Conclusion. This shows the effectiveness of organ-preserving direction that requires timely performing surgery to reduce irreversible functional reserve of the pancreas.
